Why Turin’s Best Food Experience Isn’t a Tour (And Never Was)

If you search for food tours in Turin, you’ll find lists, routes, prices, and promises.

But the truth is:

the most memorable food experiences don’t feel like tours at all.

They feel like being invited into someone’s world.

And that’s exactly what we discovered eight years ago when we started I EAT Food Adventures: not as a business idea but as an insightful and meaningful way to host people in the city we live and love.

The Problem with Most Food Tours

Most food tours are built around:

  • fixed routes
  • standardised tastings
  • scripted stories
  • maximum group sizes

They work.

They’re efficient.

They’re easy to replicate.

But they not always create real connection.

You move from place to place.

You eat.

You listen.

You leave.

And two days later, everything blends together.

The Moment We Decided What We Would Have Not Been

When we started conceiving the draft of our business and its ultimate mission, we immediately realised something simple but radical: people don’t remember where they went. They remember how they felt.

So we never really designing routes. We started designing moments.

Moments of intimacy. Moments of surprise. Moments of slowing down.

Coffee became conversations. Chocolate became storytelling. Wine became friendships.

The experience stopped being about Turin. And became about being hosted in Turin.

What Makes I EAT Food Adventures Different

We don’t sell “the best food in the city”.

Turin has many great restaurants.

We sell a curated culinary ritual led by people who live this city every day.

Every experience follows the same emotional structure:

1. Intimacy

It always begins in a private sweet atelier: with chocolate, hazelnuts, gelato, and stories.

Not as customers.

As guests.

2. Discovery

Then we walk through the city, stopping at two carefully selected street food spots.

No tourist traps.

No crowds.

Just real places we personally love.

3. Abundance

We finish in a wine bar or restaurant for a relaxed lunch or dinner: starters, pasta, wine, coffee, spirits.

Not rushed.

Not scripted.

Just shared.

Morning or Evening? Two Experiences, One Soul

We offer two main formats:

Morning Food Adventure (≈ 4 hours)

  • Private sweet atelier
  • Street food on the go
  • Easy wine bar lunch
Perfect for:
  • first-time visitors
  • relaxed travellers
  • people who want light but meaningful experiences

Afternoon / Evening D’Luxe (≈ 4 hours)

  • Aperitivo in hidden bars
  • Full traditional dinner
Perfect for:
  • couples
  • food lovers
  • celebration trips

Same philosophy. Different rhythm.

Why Our Guests Say It Feels “Different”

Because it is. We don’t guide. We host.

We don’t perform. We share.

We don’t optimise for speed. We optimise for connection.

Our groups are small, max 6 guests. Of course we can accomodate larger size groups when private but for shared experience we prefer to focus on curated time and to fully focus on the maximum result of our time together.

Every experience is founder-led., and no two days are ever exactly the same: which makes totally sense if you think that we are blessed enough to meet up with different amazing people every day or so.

Said otherwise, it’s not because we lack structure, But because we designed a living system, not a fixed product.

The Luxury of Being in a Secret City

Turin is not Rome. Not Paris. Not Milan.

And that’s its biggest advantage.

People arrive with low expectations. And leave with a feeling they didn’t expect at all:

How is this not famous?”

We believe real luxury today isn’t about gold, stars or labels.

It’s about access.

Trust.

Time.

And being treated like a human, not a booking.

So Is This a Food Tour?

Three people smiling and toasting with wine glasses in a wine cellar.

Not really.

It’s a culinary adventure, a social ritual, a slow journey through flavours, people and stories.

It’s what happens when:

  • a Michelin-trained chef
  • and a lifestyle curator
decide to open their world to travellers.

Wherever we run it, the city changes.

But the feeling doesn’t.

And that’s why our guests don’t just leave reviews.

They leave with memories.
